The Nassau County Civil Service Commission has revised the typing test program to incorporate the New York State typing test format. A change in waiver policy has occurred in tandem with the change in testing procedure. The Nassau County Civil Service Commission has approved a lifetime waiver policy for typing. This means that a candidate that passes at a required typing speed will have a waiver at that speed for life. Candidates that have previously passed will be grandfathered into the waiver file. Candidates that have never passed our typing test will continue to be tested. Candidates applying for appointments with higher speed requirements will also continue to be tested if needed.
