GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision, coordinates the activities and functions of the auxiliary police forces with the Nassau County Police Department; performs related duties as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Assists and advises auxiliary police forces concerning administrative and funding policy.
2.Advises the Mayor and Board on all matters affecting the organization, recruitment, training, funding, equipping, direction and operation of the auxiliary police forces within the Village.
3.Coordinates the activities of the auxiliary police forces with the appropriate commanders of the Nassau County Police Department.
4.Prepares an annual report and recommends budget appropriations.
5.Installs and maintains a system of property accountability.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Considerable knowledge of the rules and regulations governing auxiliary police forces.
2.Ability to conduct investigations, analyze findings and recommend corrective action.
3.Ability to express ideas clearly, orally and in writing.
4.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school and three years of experience and training in the field of Federal, State or local law enforcement, or as a peace officer or military police officer.
