GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, assists in supervising workers and equipment engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of an overhead power distribution and transmission system; performs related duties as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Assists in planning and supervising a crew of workers such as line maintainers, ground helpers, and laborers; assists in assigning and scheduling work to crew members.
2.Supervises and leads in the installation and replacement of street lights, overhead power and service lines.
3.Assists in trimming and pruning trees in the path of power lines.
4.Assists in reviewing all daily work reports submitted by crew members; may assist in preparing periodic reports.
5.Instructs crew members in the use of standard safety measures in working with high voltage electrical circuits.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Extensive knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the installation, maintenance and repair of high voltage power lines and auxiliary equipment.
2.Extensive knowledge of safety measures and precautions to be employed in working with high voltage power lines.
3.Ability to supervise installation, maintenance and repair of a power distribution system.
4.Ability to employ and demonstrate the use of adequate safety measures, devices and precautions for working with high voltage power lines; ability to keep simple records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
1.Completion of elementary school and five years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of power lines and poles;
or
2.Satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience.
