GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Operates passenger bus for the transportation of elderly persons, and performs a variety of minor maintenance activities related to such operation; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the position requires the use of judgment in operating small and/or large, heavy motor vehicles.

TYPICAL DUTIES
*1.Operates a passenger bus to transport elderly persons on scheduled recreational trips, to and from senior centers, grocery shopping malls.
*2.Assists passengers to and from bus.
*3.Services and performs minor maintenance work on assigned bus.
*4.Reports all necessary repairs to supervisor or mechanic.
*5.Maintains operational records and prepares required reports.
6.Performs unskilled tasks, as required.

*ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the operation of buses.
2.Ability to operate passenger buses with care and good judgment.
3.Ability to service and perform minor repairs on vehicles.
4.Ability to establish cooperative relationships with passengers.
5.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
6.Ability to learn routes within area of operation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of eighth grade education
and
1.Three years of satisfactory experience operating motor vehicles, including one year in the operation of a passenger bus;
or
2.Completion of one year of on-the-job training to acquire necessary skill in the operation of a passenger bus.

Necessary Special Requirement
Continuing possession of an appropriate class, valid Driver's License, with no convictions for moving violations during the past year. In addition, the driver must be at least 21 years of age.
