GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists in planning, promoting, and implementing various programs involving community youth services; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under supervision, the position requires a sensitivity to the problems of the participants. The duties involve organizing and motivating youth groups to participate in Village programs.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Conducts meetings to discuss with and involve youth in such community and personal concerns as vandalism, alcohol and drug abuse, employment and/or school goals.
2.Assists in planning, promoting and implementing special events and activities and stimulating community interest and participation.
3.Maintains liaison with various community agencies to insure maximum usage of resources in providing leisure and educational services.
4.Provides straw-boss supervision for part-time employees and volunteers.
5.Prepares simple oral and written reports.
6.Maintains simple records.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of group leadership.
2.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth groups, associates, community organizations, and the public.
3.Ability to coordinate volunteers and employees.
4.Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing and to maintain good public relations with the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school.
