GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Supervises a shift or small group of chauffeurs operating light motor vehicles in the transportation of persons or materials; or performs specialized chauffeur/escort duties involved in the transportation of valuable materials; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the use of judgment in planning, organizing and directing the activities of subordinates and/or the transportation and safeguarding of valuable materials.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Schedules and assigns chauffeurs.
2.Checks to insure vehicles are operating satisfactorily and are serviced properly.
3.Transports and safeguards funds and other valuable materials.
4.Oversees minor repairs on vehicles and reports needed major repairs.
5.Maintains work time and vehicle service records.
6.Performs routine chauffeuring duties, as required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of routes within area of operation.
2.Ability to supervise chauffeurs and oversee servicing and minor repairs.
3.Ability to operate light motor vehicles with care and good judgment.
4.Ability to keep simple records.
5.Ability to safeguard funds and other valuable materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of eighth grade education
and
One year of satisfactory experience as a chauffeur.

Necessary Special Requirement
Continuing possession of an appropriate class driver's license issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
