GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Develops and assembles material for exhibits and operates and maintains audio-visual equipment; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision, the duties require the use of reasonable care in the handling of exhibit material and equipment.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Maintains, operates, and schedules the use of audio-visual equipment.
2.Designs, plans, and makes up mapboards, bulletin boards, flipcharts, and other visual aids.
3.Mounts statistical data and photographs for demonstrations.
4.Prepares special displays for educational or promotional purposes.
5.Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of exhibits, displays, and audio-visual equipment.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Considerable knowledge of audio-visual devices and equipment.
2.Knowledge of scheduling procedures.
3.Ability to design and develop visual aids.
4.Ability to operate and maintain audio-visual equipment.
5.Ability to maintain schedule files.
6.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
1.Associate degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with major course work in art;
or
2.Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by successful completion of courses in art and display work
and
Two years of experience in planning, designing, and building exhibits and displays.
NOTE:Experience, as outlined above, in excess of the two year requirement may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years, providing satisfactory evidence of successful completion of courses in art and display work is submitted.
