GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Supervises the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of Village electrical equipment, systems, and fixtures; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the use of independent judgment in planning and directing the activities of skilled subordinates.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Supervises the repairs to electrical motors, fire alarm systems, lights, power circuits, appliances, generators, and other electrical equipment.
2.Participates in difficult repair, installation, and maintenance work.
3.Inspects and tests completed work for accuracy and completeness.
4.Instructs electricians and helpers in proper methods and procedures.
5.Prepares job, personnel, and equipment estimates.
6.Submits requisitions for parts and equipment.
7.Prepares and interprets schematic diagrams and drawings.
8.Keeps work time and equipment records and prepares reports.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the repair of all electrical equipment.
2.Knowledge of the New York Board of Fire Underwriters Code and other relevant regulations regarding electrical installations.
3.Skill in the care and use of electrician's tools and equipment.
4.Ability to locate, diagnose, and repair difficult defects and malfunctions on electrical apparatus and equipment.
5.Ability to supervise subordinate electricians and other assigned personnel.
6.Ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints.
7.Ability to prepare accurate estimates.
8.Ability to maintain records, make estimates, and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Three years of satisfactory experience as a skilled journeyman/woman electrician.
