GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Operates a school bus and performs routine cleaning duties; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, this is routine manual work calling for the services of a skilled operator, and involving responsibility for the safety of school children. The position also entails elementary cleaning and other manual tasks.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Operates a school bus to transport children.
2.Cleans, washes, and polishes bus.
3.Sweeps, mops, washes walls, dusts, empties waste baskets, and disposes of rubbish; handles towels and other cleaning supplies; waxes floors, and washes windows and blackboards.
4.Assists in cartage of supplies and equipment.
5.May set up and remove furniture for special affairs.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the operation of buses.
2.Knowledge of cleaning techniques.
3.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Physical and mental ability sufficient to perform cleaning tasks.

Necessary Special Requirement
Possession of a valid New York State Driver's License with no convictions for moving violations during the past year and appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. In addition, drivers must be a least 2l years of age.

NOTE:Candidates must satisfy all requirements of Article 19-A of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. In addition, candidates must satisfy the requirements for School Bus Driver set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education.
