1. | Assists in directing and supervising subordinate personnel engaged in a variety of investigative and inspection activities pertaining to frauds or unfair dealings against consumers. |
2. | Assists in developing and conducting programs of consumer education and information. |
3. | Assists in the investigation, disclosure, and, if necessary, prosecution of those culpable of consumer fraud and/or unfair practices. |
4. | Assists in promoting public responsibility on the part of local business and industry by encouraging a high standard of honesty and fair practice in the production, promotion, and sale of consumer goods and services. |
5. | Studies state and local laws for consumer protection; recommends amendments, if necessary. |
6. | Assists in the preparation of annual, special, and interim reports, including budget preparation. |
