GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs baking duties in an institutional kitchen; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the exercise of judgment in planning type and quantities of baked goods required.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Prepares and measures ingredients for baking.
2.Bakes bread, cakes, pastries and biscuits.
3.Operates, cleans and maintains baking equipment and utensils.
4.Instructs food service workers in techniques, methods and procedures used in institutional baking.
5.Prepares jello, puddings, custards and other desserts.
6.Insures that all utensils and work areas are kept clean and orderly.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Considerable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in institutional baking.
2.Ability to prepare, measure and determine amounts and types of ingredients of food used in institutional baking.
3.Ability to follow oral and written instruction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
1.Ability to read, write and speak English;
and
2.Two years of experience in modern large scale institutional or commercial baking.
