GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists classroom teachers leading students in group discussions of drug abuse and other teenage concerns; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the exercise of considerable judgement assisting classroom teachers leading students in group discussions of drug abuse and other teenage concerns.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Assists classroom teachers leading students in group discussions of drug abuse and other teenage concerns.
2.Assists school psychologist in group and individual discussions of problems of teenagers.
3.Provides information to teachers and administrators on drug abuse and related teenage concerns.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the various aspects of the drug problem.
2.Knowledge of group discussion techniques.
3.Ability to establish rapport with young people.
4.Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of two years (60 credits) of study at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university.
