GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists in the youthful drug offenders program of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under supervision, the duties are routine and the incumbent must be able to relate to the Department's clients.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Works as group leader with adolescents and young adults who are involved with or on the fringe of drug abuse or addiction.
2.Accompanies groups on field trips and other activities.
3.Provides information and guidance concerning drugs to youth and concerned citizens.
4.Works in community based clinics, as required, providing information to the public.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Some knowledge of the social and economic factors that contribute to drug addiction.
2.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, clients, and general public.
3.Ability to exercise patience and good judgment in dealing with clients and the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school.
