GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists the Director of the Job Development Center in performing staff work involving varied and special assignments; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties involve the use of judgment in implementing standard practices and procedures at the Job Development Center consistent with the policies of the Commission of Human Rights.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Assists in implementing a program to assist County residents to find employment commensurate with their interests, training, experience, and aspirations.
2.Acts as supervisor, in Director's absence, of a subordinate staff of job developers, interviewers, sub-professionals and clerks.
3.Assists in the recruitment and training of volunteers.
4.Develops and maintains a favorable image with prospective employers.
5.Assists in maintaining records.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the function and scope of services provided by the Job Development Center.
2.Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures used in organizing and promoting programs of a job development center with special emphasis on obtaining jobs for minority groups.
3.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with prospective employers, co-workers, and the public.
4.Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school
and
Four years of office experience in job development activities involving the placement of members of minority groups.
