GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Supervises food service and general cleaning of food service areas and equipment; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the exercise of judgment in planning and directing routine tasks to be carried out by unskilled, subordinate personnel.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Supervises, schedules, assigns, instructs, and inspects the work of food service workers.
2.Insures that food is properly handled, apportioned, and served, and that service is prompt and courteous.
3.Instructs subordinate personnel concerning policies, procedures, and regulations.
4.Locks and unlocks sub-kitchens, dining rooms, refrigerators, and cabinets.
5.Requisitions, stores, and rotates supplies, as directed.
6.Maintains records of food service operations, i.e. meal census, personnel records, floor activities.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the methods of institutional food serving.
2.Ability to supervise, assign, instruct, and inspect the work of subordinates and to train them in safety and sanitation standards.
3.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of eighth grade education
and
Three years of satisfactory food service experience in an institution or large commercial establishment.
