GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Reviews, estimates, and advises department concerning the contracting of automotive repair to private agencies, investigates private agencies' facilities; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the position requires considerable skill and the use of judgment in the inspection and coordination of maintenance activities.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Inspects and surveys damaged equipment and recommends appropriate repair.
2.Coordinates maintenance facilities to insure that repairs are made efficiently and economically.
3.Makes periodic inspection of maintenance facilities, and suggests and implements new systems and procedures.
4.Supervises, coordinates, and dispatches tow trucks during snow emergencies.
5.Participates in various industrial engineering projects.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in repair and maintenance of automotive equipment.
2.Ability to inspect and coordinate maintenance facilities to insure that repairs are made efficiently and economically.
3.Ability to review estimates and advise department on the contracting of repair work to private agencies.
4.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of high school or technical school training, including or supplemented by courses in automotive maintenance
and
Seven years of satisfactory experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
