GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Coordinates the work of supervisors and crews engaged in the maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the exercise of independent judgment in coordinating the work of supervisors and crews engaged in the maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Coordinates the work of supervisors and crews engaged in the maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins.
2.Coordinates snow removal and ice control.
3.Submits budget projection estimates and prepares budget for tools, supplies and equipment, and arranges for delivery and storage.
4.Reviews reports regarding the inspection of the condition of equipment; arranges for its repair.
5.Inspects work both in progress and completed; determines need for repair to roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins; submits recommendations regarding work to be performed.
6.Prepares reports on work distribution, labor costs, materials consumed and work accomplished.
7.Reports on the investigation of complaints concerning the condition of roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins.
8.Represents the Village in trip and fall lawsuits and depositions, and testifies in court cases.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment utilized in the maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt roads, curbs and sidewalks, drains, pipelines and catch basins.
2.Thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of highway equipment.
3.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
4.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and subordinates.
5.Ability to coordinate the work of supervisors and crews.
6.Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of eighth grade education and, either
1.Five years of satisfactory experience maintaining and repairing highways and/or related structures, including two years supervising subordinates engaged in maintaining and repairing highways and/or related structures;
OR
2.Three years of satisfactory experience maintaining and repairing highways and/or related structures, including one year supervising subordinates engaged in maintaining and repairing highways and/or related structures, and three years of satisfactory experience in constructing and/or maintaining and repairing parks, grounds and/or beaches, including one year supervising subordinates engaged in constructing and/or maintaining and repairing parks, grounds and/or beaches.
