GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Resides on an estate and manages and supervises the maintenance and care of its buildings, landscaping, and grounds; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require independent judgment in planning the maintenance of the estate and its grounds.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Supervises the maintenance of the estate, its grounds, and associated buildings.
2.Supervises the development and maintenance of all landscaping, including ornamentals, trees, bushes, and lawns.
3.Makes recommendations for alterations to the property and for future planning and development.
4.Maintains the various planting schedules.
5.Makes regular inspections of the grounds to ensure all is maintained properly.
6.Acts as liaison between groundskeeping crews and maintenance headquarters.
7.Provides around-the-clock security for the property, buildings, supplies, and equipment.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Considerable knowledge of the methods, procedures, and equipment used in the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
2.Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
3.Ability to supervise, assign, and coordinate subordinate personnel engaged in groundskeeping and maintenance activities.
4.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public.
5.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of eighth grade education
and
Four years of satisfactory experience in the maintenance and care of public grounds, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
