GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Plans, organizes, and administers the programs, operations, and maintenance of one or more public swimming pools, and adjacent buildings and grounds; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties involve the use of considerable independent judgment in supervising subordinate personnel.

TYPICAL DUTIES

1.Plans, organizes, and administers swimming pool operations and maintenance.
*
2.Formulates and implements programs of swimming pool activities.
*
3.Plans, directs, and supervises activities of subordinates engaged in operating and maintaining swimming pool machinery and equipment and associated buildings and grounds.
*
4.Schedules and assigns lifeguards, pool attendants, cleaners, and other subordinate employees.
*
5.Makes inspections, enforces rules and regulations, and ensures safe and sanitary conditions of pool and premises.
6.Prepares and distributes publicity and news releases of programs and activities.
*
7.Maintains records and prepares reports of receipts, accidents, attendance, and payrolls.
*TYPICAL ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Extensive knowledge of swimming pool activities, management, operation, and maintenance.
2.Extensive knowledge of pool safety regulations.
3.Extensive knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of swimming pool machinery and equipment.
4.Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of subordinate employees.
5.Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school
and
Five (5) seasons of experience in the management of a swimming pool or conducting programs or activities at a swimming pool facility, including two (2) seasons in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

NOTE:Education obtained at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university may be substituted for experience on a year-for-season basis, up to a maximum of four (4) years with one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience.
