1. | Assists in assigning cases to the various investigators, reviewing and correlating their work, and supervising their daily activities (Assistant Detective Investigator, Detective Investigator, District Attorney Investigative Accountant, Criminal Intelligence Analyst, Special Investigator I - II). |
2. | Conducts special confidential and sensitive investigations, as directed by the District Attorney. |
3. | Exercises direct supervision over undercover operations and the development of informants. |
4. | Directs and supervises the installation and use of technical devices and wiretaps utilized by the investigators. |
5. | Assists in planning and correlating future investigative targets and training programs. |
6. | Maintains liaison with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. |
7. | Participates in conferences and correlation of investigations with Assistant District Attorneys. |
8. | Acts for an in place of the Chief Investigator. |
1. | Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of criminal investigations and law enforcement. |
2. | Thorough knowledge of the basic methods of collecting evidence. |
3. | Considerable knowledge of applicable statutes, Court decisions, and rulings pertaining to violations of laws. |
4. | Skill in ascertaining facts by personal contact, observation, and records' examination. |
5. | Skill in unarmed defense and in the use and care of firearms. |
6. | Ability to supervise the work of subordinate investigators. |
7. | Ability to testify effectively in Court. |
8. | Ability to prepare complete and detailed reports. |
