GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs administrative and technical duties in promoting the use of Nassau County as a desirable location for producing films and as an assistant to the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties require the use of independent judgment in developing and recommending policies and procedures in the various phases of departmental activities related to cinema and television.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Attracts film industry to Nassau County by maintaining contacts in the film making community.
2.Assists production companies in finding locations, obtaining permits, police assistance, and other services.
3.Gives oral presentations at clubs and associations, and interviews on radio and television concerning cinema and television promotion.
4.Coordinates and assists feature film and commercial shoots.
5.Arranges publicity releases for production companies and the department.
6.Attends trade shows, seminars, and conferences.
7.Seeks out new locations for photo file and new services to be listed in film support brochure.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Thorough knowledge of Nassau County, and areas suitable for filming.
2.Considerable knowledge of needs of cinema and television productions for suitable filming locations.
3.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the cinema and television industry, associates, and the public.
4.Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing.
5.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university
and
Five years of satisfactory work experience, including two years of experience involving heavy contact with the public, of which at least one year was involved in theater arts promotion.
