GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Coordinates the administration and scheduling of physician residents and ensures that the activities of the physician residents meet the needs for training and accreditation; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision. the duties require the use of considerable judgment in monitoring compliance with various accreditation and association training standards and functioning as a liaison between hospital and program administrators and physician residents.


TYPICAL DUTIES

1.
Acts as liaison between residents and the Residency Program Director, Department Chair, and other key faculty.
*
2.
Coordinates residents' educational activities, conferences and attendance and administers other day-to-day activities of the residency training program.
*
3.
Assists in the development of recruitment strategy, schedules interviews pursuant to department policy, and screens applicants based on program guidelines.
*
4.
Monitors timely completion of faculty resident evaluations.
*
5.
Manages Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS) and National Resident Match Program(NRMP).
*
6.
Schedules resident rotation assignments, both on and off site.
*
7.
Assists residents in obtaining and maintaining visa documents.
8.
Conducts exit interviews with all residents.
*
9.
Plans and organizes incoming resident orientation.
*
10.
Monitors and arranges for Basic and Advanced Life Support Certification.
*
11.
Notifies residents of guidelines, regulations and changes and clarifies personnel policy questions.
*
12.
Maintains various program-related databases and files.

*ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the principles and practices of accreditation procedures, regulatory issues, and residency curricula.
2.Knowlege of the principles and practices of public administration.
3.Knowlege of the principles and techniques of records management.
4.Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
5.Ability to recruit nationally and access international graduates.

6.Ability to perform staff assignments requiring organization of material and development of procedures.
7.Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing.
8.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and medical personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and
One year of satisfactory experience in a physician residency program at an office management or administrative level.
NOTE:Experience as outlined above, in excess of the one-year requirement, may substitute for college education on a year-for-year basis.
