GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Administers first aid to patrons; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision, the duties are routine, however, the position requires the exercise of judgment in emergency situations.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Administers first aid treatment to injured or ill patrons; summons doctor in cases of serious illness or injury which require professional judgment and treatment.
2.Maintains stock of first aid supplies and equipment for emergency use and requisitions new supplies as necessary; keeps records on supplies used.
3.Keeps records on first aid treatments and on accident cases.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the methods, techniques, supplies, and equipment used for first aid treatment.
2.Ability to administer first aid to injured or ill patrons.
3.Ability to maintain stock of first aid supplies and equipment.
4.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
5.Ability to maintain a sympathetic attitude toward patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school.

Necessary Special Requirement
Possession of an American Red Cross First Aid certificate or an Emergency Medical Technician certificate issued by the New York State Department of Health.
