Under general supervision, the duties involve the exercise of limited judgment in greeting underserved populations in order to foster the acceptance of the library as a valuable community resource.

Alerts professional library staff to patron inquiries regarding service and program
information.

Promotes patron participation in library programs.

Assists patrons in exploring and utilizing library services and resources.

Provides community presence in senior and youth programs.

Maintains a quiet, welcoming atmosphere.
8.
Deals with difficult and demanding patrons in a respectful manner.
9.
Fosters trust between library and the public they serve.
10.
Models self-service and self-help library skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school.
