GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Enforces the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and those municipal codes, rules, and regulations covering parking and nonmoving violations; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the work requires patrolling an assigned area; the duties are routine, but, occasionally involve the use of limited judgment.

TYPICAL DUTIES
*1.Patrols an assigned area and enforces laws, rules, and regulations relating to vehicular parking.
*2.Issues summonses to violators of parking regulations.
*3.Alerts Police Officers in cases of observed or suspected violations of laws and ordinances over which the Police Department has jurisdiction.
*4.Observes traffic flow and highway conditions on assigned post and reports unusual conditions to the Police Department.
5.Performs clerical functions related to above duties.
*6.Operates Department vehicles as required.

* ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of relevant sections of municipal codes covering parking and nonmoving violations and the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
2.Knowledge of the geography of the County and its roadways.
3.Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
4.Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school.

Qualification Requirements
Candidates are required to pass a background investigation, and a medical examination meeting the requirements established for the position.

Necessary Special Requirement
Continuing possession of a valid Driver's License issued by the State of New York.

NOTE:Satisfactory work experience involving simple record-keeping may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
