GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Participates in a one-year internship program that includes all aspects of human services administration; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision, the duties require the use of judgment in the application of practices and procedures in human services administration.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Learns and assists in the interpretation of organizational human services policies.
2.Assists in the preparation of periodic reports.
3.Learns and assists in the human service aspects of organizational management activities.
4.Gathers information to be used in budget preparation.
5.Assists in integrating human services into programs of institutional care.
6.Attends meetings of related professional organizations, as required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital management or administration.
2.Knowledge of the patient care and treatment functions and requirements of a general hospital.
3.Ability to become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations affecting patient care and related programs.
4.Ability to assist in the development of program policy.
5.Ability to assist in the development of preliminary departmental budgets.
6.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the hospital staff.
7.Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Completion of, or enrollment in, a graduate program in Human Services Administration or allied field leading to a Master's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university.
