1. | Makes repairs to electrical motors, fire alarm systems, lights, power circuits, appliances, generators and a variety of other electrical equipment. |
2. | Trouble shoots, locates and corrects power failures and short circuits. |
3. | Installs open and concealed wiring and lighting fixtures. |
4. | Makes emergency repairs to elevators, generators and other electrical apparatus. |
5. | Performs a variety of preventive maintenance on a variety of electrical apparatus, appliances and equipment. |
6. | May be required to supervise maintenance electricians and other assigned personnel. |
7. | Makes work time estimates and keeps simple records. |
8. | Performs a variety of non-electrical maintenance and repair tasks as required. |
1. | Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the electrician's trade. |
2. | Knowledge of the New York Board of Fire Underwriters Code and other relevant regulations regarding electrical installation. |
3. | Skill in the care and use of electrician's tools and equipment. |
4. | Ability to install, alter, repair, maintain and trouble shoot a variety of electrical apparatus, appliances and equipment. |
5. | Ability to supervise maintenance electricians and other assigned personnel. |
6. | Ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints. |
