GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and general repair activities, and services bridge apparatus; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the position requires the use of judgment in performing a variety of routine maintenance and repair activities. The work is reviewed for accuracy and completeness.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Assists skilled bridge mechanic in maintenance of bridge apparatus.
2.Makes minor repairs and adjustments in operating apparatus and lubricates and cleans machinery.
3.Periodically test runs standby generator to insure that it is in operating condition.
4.Operates bridge by raising and lowering it, as required.
5.Performs a variety of routine and emergency maintenance and repair tasks, as required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in a variety of semi-skilled electrical and mechanical repair tasks.
2.Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in a variety of semi-skilled electrical and mechanical repair tasks.
3.Ability to work quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.
4.Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled electrical and mechanical repair tasks.
5.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
1.Completion of vocational school training in the electrical or mechanical trades
and
Two years of satisfactory experience in installing, maintaining, or operating mechanical and electrical machinery;
or
2.Four years of satisfactory experience in electrical and mechanical repair.
